Water in your oil tank ?

Water in home heating oil tanks can cause all manner of problems in your boiler and oil cookers such as aga.

The most common way for water to enter is by a cracked cap it or damaged vents this allows the rain water to enter the tank and it will then drop to the bottom of the tank and be sucked in to the boiler or aga thus causing the nozzle to clog
 
Extremely  cold  winter  weather can cause it to freeze and stop the oil flow to the boiler and can also freeze in the oil line causing it to split and spilling you oil   

What is a bunded tank?  10 year guarantee
 
A bunded tank is a tank within a tank that has the ability to hold 110% of the volume of the inner tank any  over filling or leaked oil will be contained in the outer skin
 
 
What is a single skin  or non bunded tank?   It only has a 2 year guarantee that can be upgraded to 5 year at an extra cost.
 
A single skin tank is a steel or plastic container in which fuel oil is stored  single skin tanks are suitable for most installation on family dwelling in the UK but a risk assessment must be undertaken prior to any tank installation.
